Shirley Ann (Mercer) Allen

Lisbon - Shirley Ann Allen, age 89, previously of Columbiana, died on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Allay Senior Care, Lisbon.

She was born on November 4, 1934, in Sebring, OH, daughter of the late Carl and Frances Crowl Mercer.

Shirley had worked as a press operator for Ballonoff Manufacturing in Columbiana for 33 years, retiring in 1996.  She was a past member of First Christian Church of Columbiana and the Twin State Auto Club in Youngstown.  Shirley enjoyed bowling, traveling, trips to Las Vegas and loved both stock car races and roller coasters.

Her husband, Varren "Rex" Allen, whom she married on July 12, 1951, preceded her in death on, June 27, 2015, after 64 years of marriage.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine S. Dailey (Don Butream) of Lisbon; three grandchildren, Morgan (Andrew) Copeland, Julie Pauly (Robert Foor) and Lori Allen.  Also surviving are three great grandchildren, Katlyn Allen, Tyler Allen and Cameron Copeland.

Shirley was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel L. Allen and David E. Allen, and her beloved dogs, Ginger and Penny.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Services will be held on Friday, at the funeral home, at 11:00 am, with Pastor Kathy Barton officiating.

Burial will take place at the Columbiana Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
