Shirley A. Downard

Leetonia - October 12, 2005 - Shirley A. Downard, 66, of 37531 SR 558 died Wednesday evening at her home.

Mrs. Downard was born July 10, 1939 in Salem, a daughter of Jonas and Anna Spencer Coy and had lived in the area all of her life. She had been employed as a custodian at Columbiana High School for 23 years, retiring in 2003. She was a member of the Franklin Square United Methodist Church.

Her husband, John R. Downard, whom she married September 18, 1988 preceded her in death on February 10, 2004.

She is survived by two sons, Frank Little of East Palestine and Jeff Little of Leetonia; two sisters Rosina Isabella of Youngstown and Mary Lou Cavucci of Ocala, FL; a brother Daniel E. Grove of Damascus; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with the Reverend Enzie Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the Hope Cemetery in Salem. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
