Shirley June Barnes

LaPorte, TX - April 9, 2008 - Shirley June Barnes, 73, formerly of Columbiana, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at her residence in LaPorte, Texas.

Mrs. Barnes was born February 4, 1935 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Clarence and E. Ocie Clever Lanterman. Shirley was very involved with the LaPorte Senior Center. She was a special Grandma and loved her puppy Suze.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary Barnes, and her brother Robert G. Lanterman.

She is survived by son, Robert Mc Laughlin of Mississippi; a daughter, Cheryl Johnson of Santa Fe, TX; a stepson, Joe (Lisa) Barnes of Texas City, TX; a sister Lois (Jerry) Beltempo of Columbiana; a brother Richard (Janet) Lanterman of Leetonia; a sister-in-law, Blanch Lanterman; numerous grandchildren; including special friends Clayton Graves and Ihla Rae Vargo.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Mr. John Selders, minister officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
