Sherwood Gleeton

Sherwood "Tut" Gleeton, 76, of Columbiana and Fort Myers, Florida, died October 14, at his home in Columbiana.

He was born March 19, 1929 in Warren, Ohio to Joseph V. and Marie Sherwood Gleeton. He graduated from Columbiana High School in 1947 and served in Korea from 1950 - 1952.

He worked in the transportation industry for many years, and since his retirement, enjoyed traveling, playing with investments, restoring old cars and spending time with his many good friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan who never missed a Daytona 500 race, if he could help it. He will be remembered for his curiosity, quirky sense of humor and enjoyment of life.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Gleeton Seifried of Sandwich, Illinois and nieces Suzanne Seifried Natafji of Round Rock, Texas and Michelle Seifried Ehret of St. Charles, Illinois.

A Memorial Service (Celebration of Life) will be held on Friday, Oct.21, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home at 28 North Main Street in Columbiana. A second Memorial Service will be held in Fort Myers in January, 2006 for his many friends in Florida.
