Sarah Jane Zank

East Palestine-September 25, 2010-Sarah Jane Zank, 92, of 505 State Route 165, died at 9:20 a.m. Saturday at her home.

Mrs. Zank was born May 25, 1918 in New Castle, PA a daughter of the late Jess J. and Eva Wicks Jackamo and had lived in the Youngstown and East Palestine area all of her life.

Sarah was a homemaker. She always brought her sense of humor to every conversation. Sarah was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and handiwork.

Her husband, George Zank, whom she married November 20, 1941 died November 29, 2006.

She is survived by her niece, C. Lynne Gilchrist, with whom she made her home and four generations of nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Gilchrist and Frances Bueno and a brother, Meryle Jackamo.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Dale E. Crum officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Lake Park Cemetery.
