Sarah L. Hunston

Carrollton - February 8, 2005 - Sarah L. "Sallie" Hunston, 94, of 411 Garfield Avenue NW, formerly of Columbiana and East Palestine, died at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Carroll Healthcare Center, Carrollton.

Mrs. Hunston was born December 1, 1910 in Belmont County, Ohio, a daughter of William J. and Libbie Richardson Burkle and had lived in Carrollton since 1997.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana and had been employed as a caseworker at the former Columbiana County Welfare Department.

Her husband, Robert H. Hunston, whom she married June 7, 1934 died July 1960.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Sally) Guchemand of Carrollton; two sons, Larry Allen Hunston of Bonneau, SC and Thomas W. Hunston of Seneca, SC; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A daughter, Shirley Hunston, one sister, and four brothers are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Steven K. Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday.
