Sandra Kay Wilkinson

Sandra Kay Wilkinson went home to be with God on March 24, 2007.

She is survived by her husband, Warren Wilkinson, 1388 McCloskey Road, Columbiana, Ohio, whom she married on November 7, 1983.

Sandy fought a long and courageous battle with cancer and will be remembered for her upbeat handling of this challenge.

She was founder and owner of Patchwork Sewing Nook, specializing in hand crafted dolls and quilts. Over the years she made over 500 dolls and 75 hand quilted quilts. She was active in various activities and showed her talents in many of the area craft shows. The Share Food Bank was blessed to have her on the Board o Directors and also on the committee for the distribution of food for the needy in the New Waterford area.

Sandy was born on April 25, 1942 in Warren Ohio, the eldest daughter of Velma Bronson and Wayne Wilms.

She is survived by her mother of Warren, a sister, Maureen (Larry) Seifert of Champion and a brother Richard (Sharon) Wilms of Braceville. Also surviving is her beloved daughter Teresa (Brian) Sexton of Fayetteville, North Carolina and two sons, Scott (J.J.) Gallo and Ross (Heather) Gallo, both of Lisbon, plus six grandchildren, Logan, Hayley & Izabella Sexton, Mallery Rose, Evan and Nicholas Gallo. Also to treasure her memory are her step-children, Warren (Lori) Wilkinson of Hartville, Ohio and Wendy (Russell) Straub of Columbiana and Patricia (James) Lasiter of Texas and seven step-grandchildren.

Sandy was preceded in death by her father on September 24, 1977 and a step-daughter Sandra Lee and a step-granddaughter at birth.

Following her wishes, no visitation will be observed. A memorial service will be conducted by Mr. Keith Conkle at the New Waterford Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of New Springfield, Ohio or Hospice of the Valley, who have been so thoughtful and caring throughout her long illness.
