East Palestine-December 6, 2010-Sally M. Luek, 72, died at 12:55 p.m. Monday at Parkside Health Care Center in Columbiana where she had resided the past two years.
Mrs. Luek was born May 26, 1938 in East Palestine, a daughter of William C. and Zona G. Guy Baker and had lived in this area all of her life.
Sally was a machine operator for the former M&W Company in East Palestine. She had also worked as a lunchroom aide for East Palestine Schools at Captain Taggart and Unity for thirteen years. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, East Palestine.
She is survived by her husband James E. Luek, whom she married January 18, 1958; two daughters, Brenda (Ed) Green of East Palestine and Rae Ann Bankston of Hermitage, TN; a brother, Bob (Patty) Baker of East Palestine; and three grandchildren, Justin Kibler, Eric Kibler and Brandon Bankston.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Luek; a son-in-law, James Bankston; a sister, Betty Danus; and a brother, Herb Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, December 9, 2010, at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Reverend David Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the New Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon Thursday at the funeral home.
