Ruthanna Rhodes

Columbiana September 10, 2008 Ruthanna Rhodes, 88, formerly of South Main Street, Columbiana, died at 7:17 a.m. Wednesday at Essex of Salem II.

Mrs. Rhodes was born December 30, 1919 in Everett, PA, a daughter of the late John and Mae Miller Karns.

She had been employed as a practical nurse at area nursing homes and also in private duty. She was a member of the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren.

She has preceded in death by her first husband, Arch Klist and her second husband, John Rhodes; a son, William Klist; three sisters, Lelia Luther, Hilda Karns, and Kathleen H. Simon; three brothers, Paul Karns, Wayne Karns, and Glen Karns; and a granddaughter, Glenda Geis.

She is survived by a daughter, Dottie Geis of Lisbon; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Zion Hill Cemetery, with the Reverend John Bartholomew officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
