Ruth A. Wilhelm

East Palestine- Ruth A. Wilhelm, age 102, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Essex of Salem II, Salem, OH.

She was born on February 16, 1913 in East Palestine, a daughter of the late William and Florence Staley Bott.

Ruth was a past member of Centenary United Methodist Church and the Rebecca Lodge, East Palestine. She grew up working at both her parent's restaurant and clothing store, known as Bott Brothers, and later worked for W.S. George Pottery, East Palestine. Ruth enjoyed flower gardening, reading, crocheting and playing cards. She also enjoyed the years that she spent traveling with her late husband.

Her husband, Arthur E. Wilhelm, whom she married on January 19, 1934, preceded her in death on September 27, 1980.

She is survived by four daughters, Donna Allen of Poland, Janice (Glenn) Mankin of Cumming, GA, Charlotte (Bruce) Capel of Salem and Marjorie ("Jack") Mathews of Tega Cay, SC; Ten grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; one great great grandson and four nieces.

Ruth was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Radler; a brother, William Bott Jr and a son in-law, Bob Allen.

A Private family service will be held at a later date.

Burial will be at the Glenview Cemetery, East Palestine.
