Leetonia August 5, 2006 -Ruth Elizabeth Welsh, age 84, of 39998 SR 558 died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday in the St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

She was born April 30, 1922 in East Fairfield, daughter of Wilmer T. and Martha Imboden Crook.

She had lived in Leetonia since 1977 coming from East Fairfield area.

Ruth graduated from Fairfield Centralized School in 1940. She had been a Federal Government employee in the War Department, Selective Service and the Labor Department serving in Washington DC, Japan, Alaska, Lisbon, Warren and Youngstown for 30 years, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church, Elkrun/Fairfield Friendly Homemakers, FCE, NARFE and chapter 0014 of AARP.

She is survived by her husband, John A. Welsh whom she married August 13, 1977; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Bonnie J.) Steeb of Shalmar, FL; a son, Randolph L. (Martie) Bolsinger of Las Vegas NV, two step sons, Gary Welsh of Leetonia and Jeffrey Welsh of Youngstown; two brothers, George Crook of Columbiana and Robert Crook of East Fairfield; two granddaughters, five step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.

Two brothers, Charles and James Crook, preceded her in death. Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the East Fairfield United Methodist Church where the body will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Michael Namy and Reverend Charles Ready officiating. Burial will follow in the Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Fund of church.
