East Palestine, OH, May 13, 2005 -Ruth Ann Stewart, age 70, of 545 North Walnut Street died at 6:00 a.m. Friday at her home. Mrs. Stewart was born June 9, 1934 in Chester WV, a daughter of Theodore and Jean Kell Martin and had lived in this area most of her life.
She was the secretary for 35 years at the First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine where she was also a member. She was very active as the representative for the East Palestine area for the Salvation Army.
She is survived by her husband, James "Donald" Stewart, whom she married October 9, 1954; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Patti L.) Robb of Boardman; a son, James D. (Aurea "Nene") Stewart of East Palestine; a sister Marian Aeppli of Struthers; a brother Terry Martin of Leavittsburg; and eight grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, Natalie, Katherine, and Daniel Robb and Jennifer, Jamie, and Andrew Stewart.
A sister, Lois Parry and a brother, David Martin preceded her in death.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine with the Reverend Jan Douglass officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church for the memorial fund or the Salvation Army Fund at the church.
