East Palestine - January 24, 2005 - Ruth A. Rowe, 82, formerly of Alice Street, died at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the St. Mary's Alzheimers Center, Columbiana following a long illness.

Mrs. Rowe was born January 2, 1923 in East Palestine, a daughter of Harry and Clara M. Stanyard Felger and had lived in this area all of her life.

She has been employed as a shipping clerk at the former Adamson Tank Company and had also worked as a cashier at the former Morris Golden Dawn and as a presser at the former Barrett's Dry Cleaners, all of East Palestine.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine and was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the 4th Armored Division Association. Her husband, Robert C. Rowe, whom she married June 24, 1942 died January 14, 2003.

She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Doll of Columbiana; a son, Robert Rowe of Broadview Heights, OH; a sister, Irma Sanders of Columbus; and three grandchildren, Kristin Doll of Lizella, GA, Shane Doll of Charleston, SC, and David Rowe of Brook Park, OH.

A sister, Helen Schiller and a brother, George Felger are also deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine with the Reverend J. Ross Slaughter, of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday.
