Ruth Marie Hawkins

Rogers - Ruth Marie Hawkins, 87, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at her home.

Mrs. Hawkins was born January 14, 1929 in Barberton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Mabel Andrews Flowers and had lived in this area most of her life. She had been employed as a cafeteria cook for Crestview School District for 20 years. She had also been a cook at Camp Paul E. Dean.

She was a member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church. Her husband, Harry T. Hawkins whom she married July 3, 1952, died March 3, 2012.

She is survived by a daughter, Darla (Frank) Engle of Salem; a son, Chuck (Cindi) Hawkins of Parma; eight grandchildren, Justin Engle, Jami Toot, Ben Hawkins, Kerry Hawkins, Kayla Hart, Tracey Spooner, Amanda Schulkers, and Andrew Neiheisel; and 16 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Neiheisel; an infant sister, Norma Jean Flowers; and four brothers, Harold Flowers, Chuck Flowers, Jim Flowers, and Albert Flowers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at the East Fairfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Susan D. Antolik and Pastor Charles Ready officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and at the church one hour prior to the services on Friday.
