Salem – Ruth Ann Kyser, 79, died Thursday, January 28, 2016, at her home.
Mrs. Kyser was born, May 17, 1936, in Salem, the daughter of the late Marvin and Thelma Rohrer Fieldhouse and had lived in this area all of her life.
Ruth was a graduate of Leetonia High School and had attended Youngstown State University. She had been employed as a secretary for the 1st National Bank and the former Christian Training Ministries.
Mrs. Kyser was a member of the Greenford Christian Church where she was also a Sunday school teacher and served on the Board of Missions. Ruth also served as treasurer for the Greenford Library and served on the library building committee. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and served on the Mahoning County Election Board for 40 years. She also enjoyed being a part of her bowling league and especially loved to travel and participate in her grandchildren’s activities.
She is survived by her husband, George Kyser, whom she married July 15, 1956; a daughter, Diane L. (Dale R.) Murray of Columbiana; a son, Thomas G. (Marian) Kyser of Louisville, KY; a brother, John M. (Judy L.) Fieldhouse of Columbiana and six grandchildren, Kyle and Krista Murray and Anna, Anthony, Alex and Rose Kyser.
A daughter, Kathleen Sue Kyser preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Greenford Christian Church with John Bush, Minister officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana, as well as one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Board of Missions of the Greenford Christian Church.
