Ruth E. Holloway

Columbiana - Ruth E. Holloway, 87, of Columbiana, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Holloway was born October 24, 1926 at Salem, a daughter of the late David A. and Sarah Werner Firestone and had lived in the area all of her life. She was a homemaker and had also been employed as a legal secretary. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia and the American Legion Auxiliary of Columbiana. She had also volunteered at Parkside Heath Care Center.

Her husband, Harold E. Holloway, whom she married January 20, 1946 died June 11, 2005.

She is survived by three daughters, Marcia Beckner of Columbiana, Kathy (Jim) Vannoy of Bardstown, KY, and Beverly (Robert) Washabaugh of Columbiana; seven grandchildren, Michael (Lita) Himes, Jodi (Tim) Joseph, Kelly (Jeff) Head, Sandrae (Dave) Banar, Michele (Randy) Burns, Amy (Paul) Custer, and James (Lesley) Vannoy; and nine great grandchildren, Jessica, Caitlin, Isaac, Kelsie, Jenna, Michael, Brandon, Damon, and William.

She was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
