Negley - June 5, 2006 - Ruth Jane Hays, 84, of 50673 Richardson Avenue, died at 10:20 p.m. Monday at the Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana.
Mrs. Hays was born June 25, 1921 in Achortown, OH, a daughter of Ira and Elfie Gillespie Huston and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Negley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Ross Hays, whom she married August 11, 1941; four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Denny of Columbiana, Mrs. Robert (Susan) Merry of Salem; Mrs. Larry (Gayla) Zimmerman and Mrs. Thomas (Mary) Henry, both of East Palestine; two sons, Michael (Toni) Hays of East Palestine and Allen (Patti) Hays of Salem; a sister, Mildred Larson of Scottsdale, AZ; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
A sister, Gladys Shaw and five brothers, Glenn, James, Joseph, Edward and Otto Huston are deceased.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine with Rev. Dennis Devorick officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 6-9 p.m. Thursday and one half hour prior to the services on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Negley United Methodist Church.
