Ruth Ellen Forney

New Waterford - May 15, 2006 - Ruth Ellen Forney, 87, of 3253 Creek Road, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday at her home.

Mrs. Forney was born December 3, 1918 in Beaver Township, Mahoning County, OH, a daughter of George Franklin and Mary Alice Houp Dilling and had lived in this area all of her life. She had been employed as an egg inspector with the USDA for several years.

Her husband, Rudolph E. Forney, whom she married in 1938 died in 1948.

She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ellen Snyder of New Waterford; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Chaplow of North Fort Myers, FL and Mrs. Nora E. Eaton of East Palestine; three brothers, George Keagy of Washingtonville, John Dilling of New Waterford and Henry Dilling of North Fort Myers, FL; two granddaughters and seven great grandchildren.

A son, James Forney and two brothers, Jess Dilling and Donald Dilling preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Joanne Dota officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. on Friday.
