Columbiana - Ruth E. Holloway, 90, of 508 Fairfield Avenue, died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Holloway was born October 31, 1921 in Salem, a daughter of the late William A. and Amanda Rhodes Jenkins and had lived in Columbiana since 1960, coming from East Palestine. She was a graduate of the Enon Valley High School.
She had been employed as a seamstress for the Pittsburgh Chair Company, East Palestine for 26 years, retiring in 1976. Prior to that, she had worked at the W. S. George Pottery in East Palestine and was a crane operator at Babcock and Wilcox in Beaver Falls, PA during WWII.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Columbiana where she had served as an ordained Deacon and Elder and the James R. Barrow Bell Choir.
Her husband, Robert Holloway, whom she married November 10, 1945 died August 12, 2003.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, William Jenkins and John Jenkins are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Carolyn Griffeth officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
