Leetonia - January 10, 2009 - Roy Lewis "Angel" Myers, 71, formerly of SR 558, died at 4:38 p.m. Saturday at the Salem Community Hospital.
Roy was born October 15, 1937 in Youngstown, a son of the late Howard and Johanna Braun Myers and had lived in this area since 1983, coming from Youngstown.
He had been employed at Republic-LTV Steel for 39 years, retiring in 1995 as a rigger. He had served in the US Army as a military policeman and was a member of the National Rifle Association and AARP.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry M. Myers.
He is survived by a brother, Marlin Myers of Youngstown; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, John and Mary Jo Krawchyk and their sons, David and Matt of Leetonia. The family would like to thank the staff of Holander House in Salem for the fine care that Roy received.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the combined unit from the Salem Amvets and VFW Post. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
