Roy H. Landis

Washingtonville, OH-July 21, 2007-"Rowdy" Roy H. Landis, age 80, of Washingtonville died Saturday at Parkside Healthcare Center in Columbiana. He was surrounded by his wife of 58 years and all of his six children.

Mr. Landis was born June 1, 1927 in Irwin, PA a son of Roy W. and Anna Zimmerman Landis and had lived in this area most of his life. He had been employed as a machinist and tool and die maker for the former William K. Stamets Company of Columbiana and the former Fordees Corporation of Leetonia.

He served in the US Navy during WW II and was a member of the Joe Williams Post #131, American Legion, Leetonia. He was also a member of the Allen Lodge #276 F. &A. M. in Columbiana. He was a Lutheran by faith.

Roy is survived by his wife, the former Mary Jane Martin, whom he married July 25, 1949; a daughter, Cheryl (Steven) Cornich of Canfield; five sons, David H. and Paul (Karen) Landis of North Lima, Carl (Sandy) Landis of North Jackson, George (Carol) Landis of New Springfield and T. Michael (Stacey) Landis of Canton; two brothers, Harold J. (Barbara) Landis of Columbus and Allen Lee (Mary) Landis of Richmond, VA; and 10 grandchildren.

There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Point Man Ministries 243 Main St. P.O. Box 84 Leetonia, OH 44431. Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia was in charge of arrangements.
