Canfield - August 17, 2008 - Rodg S. King, 64, of 11633 Columbiana-Canfield Road, died at 2:25 p.m. Sunday at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown, with his family at his side.

Mr. King was born October 26, 1943 in Youngstown, a son of the late John F. and Joyce Skinner King and had lived in this area all of his life. He had been employed as a welder/fitter at Fabco Welding and Fabricating, Columbiana for several years.

He was a member of the Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ, North Lima, the Youngstown Senior Bowling Association and the YMCA Silver Sneakers Program. Rodg was an avid woodworker and painter and loved family gatherings. He was a Steelers fan and especially enjoyed meeting his "Sheetz Daily Coffee" friends every day at 3 p.m.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Deirdre Brain King; his grandparents who raised him, Rodg and Grace E. Skinner; a son, Rodg King, Jr.; a sister, Cheryl King Sanders; a brother, Jake King; and a special aunt, Hattie Skinner.

He survived by his wife, the former Carolyn K. Terry, whom he married July 29, 2006; a son, Derek R. (Angela) King, Sr. of Beloit; a step daughter, Karina R. (Gary) Fulwiler of Dayton; a daughter in law, Christine (Jim) Donnachie of Conneaut Lake, PA; a sister in law, Judy (Ron) Jones of Canfield; his grandchildren, Katelynn, Rodg III, and Samantha King; Luke Donnachie; and Ashly, Derek Jr. (Bubba), and Nicky King; nieces and nephews, Jamie (Lori) Jones, Kevin (Robin) Jones, Jenn (Greg) Davidson, Jack King, Don Sanders, and Shannon Sanders (Rich) Baird; foster nephews, Justin and John Durkin; and numerous special friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ, North Lima, with the Reverend Melinda Q. Lacefield officiating. The family will greet friends at the church hall for a luncheon following the services.

Arrangements were made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
