Leetonia - September 19, 2004 - Roberta G. Woodall, age 92, formerly of Leetonia, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday at the Crandall Medical Center, Sebring.
Mrs. Woodall, a descendent of a pioneer Youngstown family was born April 18, 1912 in Youngstown, a daughter of Marshall C. and Mary Phillips Gibson. She was graduated from the former South High School in Youngstown and also the College of Wooster.
She taught language arts at the Leetonia Exempted Village Schools for several years. An active Presbyterian all of her life, she was an ordained elder and had been a member of Presbyterian churches in Youngstown, Girard, Vienna, Leetonia, and Sebring. She was a member of the Thursday Reading Club of Leetonia; a charter member of the Leetonia Parks and Recreation Board and was a charter member of the former Leetonia Artisan Festival Committee.
Her husband, the Reverend William L. Woodall, whom she married July 17, 1935 died January 16, 1977.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Steven (Susan E.) Manos of Blacklick, OH; two sons, W. Dallas (Velma) Woodall of Warren and John G. (Patty) Woodall of Stow, OH; a daughter in law, Judy W. Woodall of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A son, Robert B. Woodall is also deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with the Reverend Doctor Meta Cramer of the Good News Presbyterian Parish officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Park Cemetery, Boardman. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
If friends desire, material tributes may take the form of a donation to the donor's charity of choice in Mrs. Woodall's name.
