Roberta O. Nelson

Columbiana - Roberta O. Nelson, 92, formerly of North Vine Street, died at 1:25 a.m. Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Vista Center, Lisbon.

Mrs. Nelson was born March 6, 1919 in Ohiopyle, PA, a daughter of Estep Joseph and Catherine Ophelia Cunningham Conrad and had lived in this area since 1937, coming from Markleysburg, PA. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Columbiana.

Her husband, LaClair W. Nelson, whom she married October 28, 1937 died January 21, 2005.

She is survived by three daughters, Catherine (Gene) Justice of Columbiana, Sharon R. (Gregory Bozick) Nelson of Austintown, and Karen A. (Gaither M. Randolph) Nelson of Austintown; a brother, Michael "Micky" (Cindi) McClain of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille "Luke" Glover and Virginia "Sam" Schmidt.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at the Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Columbiana with Pastor Sean Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Memorial tributes may be made to either Jerusalem Lutheran Church or Hospice of the Valley. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
