Robert "Bob" Washabaugh

Columbiana - Robert "Bob" Washabaugh, age 82, of Columbiana, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Covington Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in East Palestine.

He was born on January 25, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of the late Robert S. and Doris Davis Washabaugh.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany and had worked as a truck driver for both Leaseway Transportation and Schwebel’s Baking Company for over 30 years, retiring in 2005.  He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Leetonia, was a lifetime member of the Western Star #21 F. & A.M. in Boardman and was a member of the Youngstown Shrine Club where he participated as a Shrine clown.  Bob was a master carpenter and a car enthusiast.  He and his wife Bev enjoyed time together vacationing in Sanibel, FL.  Bob will best be remembered as both a loving and devoted father and husband.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beverly Holloway Washabaugh whom he married on September 11, 1976, and by his daughter, Sandrae Banar and husband David; sister-in-law Kathy (Holloway) Vannoy and husband Jim; plus, several nieces and nephews from Columbiana, OH and Bardstown, KY.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John R. Washabaugh.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, at 11am, at the funeral home, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.  Both Masonic Services and Military Honors will be observed.

The family would like to thank the staff at Covington Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the kindness and compassion that they showed to Bob and his family.
