Robert Eugene Snyder

Columbiana April 21, 2005 -Robert Eugene Snyder, age 88, of 13900 South Avenue died at 2:00 a.m. Thursday at his residence.

He was born Aug. 29, 1916 in Columbiana, son of Byron E. and Elva Heindel Snyder and had lived in the Columbiana area all his life.

Mr. Snyder had been a Power House Operator for U. S. Steel at Youngstown for 42 years.

He was a life long member of the Grace United Church of Christ.

Mr. Snyder was a member of the Allen Masonic Lodge #276, F&AM; York Rite Bodies of Masons at Salem & Lisbon; the Youngtown Scottish Rite; the Al Koran Shrine at Cleveland; was Past-Patron of Columbiana Eastern Star and was a 70-year member of the Columbiana Chapter and it's successor, Chapter #155 of Odd Fellows at Canfield. He was a recipient of the York Cross of Honor

His wife, Dora Virginia Stephens whom he married June 30, 1937; a son, Larry Eugene Snyder of Columbiana; three granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren survive him.

A daughter, Madge Ludwig; a brother, Earl E. Snyder and two grandsons preceded him in death.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Boehm officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the Masonic Lodge will conduct a service at 5:30 p.m.
