Washingtonville - April 6, 2006 - Robert B. Snow, age 82, of 645 Boston Street, died at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Parkside Healthcare Center, Columbiana.
Mr. Snow was born August 12, 1923 in Washingtonville, a son of Benjamin W. and Margaret MacAndrew Snow and had lived in this area all of his life. He served in the US Army during WW II where he was a POW in Germany. He had been employed as a tool and die maker at General Motors in Lordstown for 13 years. He had also worked at Sekely's in Salem.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia, the UAW Local 1714, Joe Williams Post # 131 American Legion and York Drexler Post #5532 VFW.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Hunter, whom he married November 22, 1947; two daughters, Mrs. Tim (Susan) Stegall of Kenner, LA and Mrs. John (Molly) Grubbs of Leetonia; six sons, Robert (Dorothy) Snow of Leetonia, Samuel Snow of LaPorte, IN, Patrick (Dodie) Snow and Douglas Snow, both of Washingtonville, John (Brittany) Snow of Mesa, AZ, and Tim (Jody) Snow of Salem; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Snow of Salem; a brother, William (Barbara) Snow of North Lima; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Snow and three sisters, Margaret Stewart Jordon, Helen Tibbets, and Jacquelyn Twitchell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Reverend Dan Cipar officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. The family will receive friends at the St. Patrick's Parish Hall immediately following the Mass.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Association.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
