Robert W. Montgomery Jr

Robert W. Montgomery Jr., 48, of Norcross, GA, formerly of Columbiana, died September 17, 2008 at the Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth, GA.

Robert was born May 21, 1960 in Salem, Ohio, a son of Robert W. and Barbara Hanna Montgomery. He was a 1978 graduate of Columbiana High School and was employed at the former Electric Equipment Company in Youngstown prior to becoming a diesel mechanic at Houghton Chemical Corporation in Boston, MA. Currently he was employed in the construction business. Robert was a Lutheran by faith. He enjoyed fishing, camping, had many friends and loved living in the sunny south.

Survivors include a daughter, Petra Lynn of Lisbon, a brother Scott E. Montgomery and family, his grandfather Eugene W. Hanna, an aunt Peggy (Don) Oberholtzer, an uncle David (Jean) Hanna all of Columbiana; an uncle Lee (Anna) Hanna of California, KY and 12 cousins.

His parents, a grandmother Marian Hanna, and cousins Darren Hanna and Kyle Oberholtzer preceded him in death.

The Reverend W. David H. Conrad will officiate for the memorial service at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Friends may call at the chapel for one hour prior to the service. Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana is handling arrangements.
