Robert Evan Mesmer, Sr

Leetonia - Robert Evan Mesmer, Sr., 86, died peacefully September 2, 2014 at his home, cared for and surrounded by family.

He was born December 3, 1927 in Youngstown, a son of the late Theodore and Grace Bossert Mesmer, Sr. of North Lima and was of the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Springfield Local, Class of 1946, served in the US Army from 1946-1949 and then attended Youngstown University. He was employed by Ted Mesmer and Sons; the family business.

Bob enjoyed his family, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, water skiing, golf, caring for his home at Big Rock Lake and the many friends at The Links.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sandra Jean, and a brother, Ted Mesmer, Jr.

Bob leaves his wife of 64 years, Lois Ray Mesmer, two sons, Robert (Marty) Mesmer, Jr. and Alan (Debbie) Mesmer, both of Leetonia; and two daughters, Ann (Randy) Zeigler of Virginia and Kim (John) Talbot of North Carolina.

There will be no calling hours and memorial services will be held at a later date. The family requests any material contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley.
