New Springfield November 17, 2004 -Robert Paul Macklin, age 75, of 12989 Beard Road died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
He was born August 10, 1929 in Columbiana, son of Lloyd Wilber and Grace Marie Kyser Macklin.
He had lived in New Springfield for 28 years coming from Columbiana.
Mr. Macklin had been a mechanic for WRTA in Youngstown, owned and operated a Gas Station where he did much mechanical work and was a mechanic in the US Air Force for 16 years.
He was a former member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church and a member of Ohio Chapter #122, Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Macklin is survived by his life partner, Nancy Reese; her three sons, Jeffrey Reese of Leetonia, Michael Reese of North Canton and James Reese of New Springfield; three sons, John Macklin of Duluth, MN, Steve Craig Macklin of VA and Tony Paul Macklin of CA; three sisters, Mrs. John (Evelyn) Perrott, Mrs. Virginia Arthurs and Mrs. Arliss (Patricia) Webb, all of Columbiana; a brother, Eugene Macklin of Columbiana; and three granddaughters and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Macklin who was killed in France during WWII.
A memorial services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home with the Rev. W. David H. Conrad officiating.
His family requests material contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
