Washingtonville-Robert Leonard, 90, passed away at 10:40 pm, Monday, March 16, 2015 at St. Elizabeth's Boardman Campus.
Mr. Leonard was born February 19, 1925 in Leetonia, a son of Raymond and Kathryn Kennedy Leonard and had lived in this area all of his life.
Bob had been a machine builder for the Wm. K. Stamets Company in Columbiana. He was a member of Grace Church in Columbiana and the Columbiana Dance Club. He was also a member of the Youngstown Maennerchor and the Saxon Club. He served in the US Navy during World War II.
His wife, the former Phyllis Ritchie Santini, whom he married May 23, 1980, died June 26, 2006. Bob and Phyllis spent 17 wonderful winters in Florida and now they are dancing together in heaven.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Sandy (Jack) Moffett and Kim (Randy) Guy both of Columbiana; his sons, Jim Leonard of The Villages, FL, Robert W. (Maria) Leonard of Lebanon Valley, PA and James (Barb) Santini of Lisbon; his grandchildren, Cory Guy (his best buddy), Kristen Guy, Jayme Santini, Jenna (Frank) Greiner, Jason Santini, Samantha Smith, Kyle Smith, Kelly (Andrew) Reinhart, Jeff (Tanya) Moffett and Mackenzie Leonard; and eleven great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Wire, a brother, Raymond Leonard and a granddaughter, Lori Moffett.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Reverend Dr. Robert Joy officiating. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Salem Honor Guard. Friends may call from 2-3 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
