Robert L. Boardman

East Palestine, OH-February 13, 2007-Robert L. Boardman, age 62, of 51625 Failor Road, died at 7:42 p.m. Tuesday at the Salem Community Hospital.

Mr. Boardman was born November 5, 1944 in Conneaut, OH, a son of Maurice E. and Marjorie L. Chamberlain Boardman and had lived here since 1996 coming from the Beloit area.

He had worked for the former Custom Quality Ceramics in Beloit and served in the United States Army and the Ohio National Guard. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary V. Scott, whom he married February 1, 1967; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Linda L.) Andrew of Cuyahoga Falls; a son, Kevin B. (Alicia) Boardman of Chattanooga, TN; four sisters, Sylvia Hastings of Enon Valley, PA, Lydia Drown, Alice Boardman and Gloria Boardman all of Texas and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Maurice and Alan Boardman.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine with the Reverend Dr. Barry Walker, Chaplain (LTC) United States Army Retired, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the combined group from the VFW Post # 4579 and American Legion Post # 31 of East Palestine. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
