East Palestine - Robert F. Baker, 80, of 671 Jackson Street, died at 10:03 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Allegheny General Hospital of complications following surgery.
Mr. Baker was born December 12, 1932 in Negley, a son of the late William and Zona Guy Baker and had lived in this area all of his life. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He had been employed as a produce manager for A&P Tea Company for several years. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, East Palestine.
He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia A. Mackall, whom he married February 22, 1954; a daughter, Denise A. Baker of New Waterford; a granddaughter, Natasha (Jack) Meier of New Waterford; and two great grandchildren, Braydon Meier and Brayleigh Meier.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Danus and Sally Luek and a brother, Herbert Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Mr. Robert Helbeck, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in East Carmel Cemetery, Rogers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
