Columbiana - Richard R. Wenderoth, 86, of 25 Village Court, died at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Boardman.
Mr. Wenderoth was born June 12, 1925 in Poland, a son of the late Melvin and Vida Porter Wenderoth and had lived in this are all of his life. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II.
He had been employed as a machinist and later as business representative of the International Association of Machinists. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana and was a member and past commander of Benjamin Firestone Post #290 of Columbiana.
He is survived by his wife, the former Betty J. Gardner whom he married April 26, 1947; a daughter, Linda S. Summers of Ashville, OH; three sons, James A. (Susan) Wenderoth of Leetonia, Jack R. (Linda) Wenderoth of Weiser, ID, and David L. (Derrinda) Wenderoth of Big Fork, MT; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel with the Reverend Charles Ready officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Wednesday.
Funeral arrangements are being made by the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
