Columbiana January 16, 2004 - Richard Frank Kale, age 65, of 1229 Columbiana-Lisbon Road went peacefully from his residence to be with his Lord at 6:20 a.m. Friday.
He was born June 19, 1938 in Enon Valley PA, son of Byron E. and Gladys Estelle Haskins Kale and had lived in Columbiana for 36 years coming from East Palestine.
He had been a Welder-Assemblyman for the former NRM at Columbiana for 26 years.
He was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church where he served as deacon and trustee; He was a member of the Columbiana Fire Department for many years where he served as 2nd Assistant Chief until he retired due to physical disabilities. He was also a member of the Leetonia Masonic Lodge #401 F&AM.
He served as a staff sergeant in the Army.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Ellis whom he married August 16, 1968; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Dawn Marie) Timmann of Columbiana; a son, John (Tera) Kale of Deland Florida; a sister, Mrs. James (Shirley) Eggleston of Shepherd, Texas; a brother, James (Lois) Kale of East Palestine, a brother-in-law, James (Dawn) Ellis; a granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Barker of Columbiana; a grandson, David Eugene Barker of Bucyrus; nieces, Mrs. Keith (Pat) Sieg of Brookfield, Mrs. Greg (Peg) Walker of East Palestine, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) McKinney of Columbiana, Mrs. Ken (Chris) Baird of Spring Texas and Tracey Ellis of Salem; nephews, James (Becky) Kale of Columbiana and Tony (Heidi) Ellis of Findlay; great niece, Danielle Ellis and Emily Kale, both of Columbiana and Amanda Baird of Spring Texas; great nephews Michael Cozza of Leetonia, Kenny Baird of Spring Texas, Jimmy Ellis of Findlay, and Emily Kale of Columbiana; his sisters and brothers at Jerusalem Lutheran Church and his companions "Buttons" and "Sissy".
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Jerusalem Lutheran Church with the Rev. W. David H. Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery.
Friends may call 4-8 Sunday at Warrick-Kummer Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Peace Garden at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 415 South Main Street, Columbiana or Hospice of the Valley, 2235 East Pershing Street, Salem.
