Leetonia - February 9, 2006-Richard William Frederick, age 90, of 6123 Leetonia Road, died at 9:00 a.m. Thursday at Ivy Woods Manor, North Lima.
Mr. Frederick was born October 5, 1915 in Salem, OH, a son of William and Florence Kerns Frederick and had lived in this area all of his life.
He had been employed as an electrician at General Motors in Lordstown for 15 years and prior to that had worked at American Standard in Salem and Crescent Machine, Leetonia.
He served in the US Army during WW II in Europe. He was a member of the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church, the United Auto Workers Local Chapter 1112 of Lordstown, and a life member of the Salem VFW #892.
He is survived by a daughter in law, Trudy Frederick, with whom he made his home; a son, Richard W. Frederick, Jr. of Monroe, OH; a stepson, Carl Mort Jr. of Sebring; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Carol Oliver of Beloit, and Mrs. Bonnie Greenmeyer of Salem; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Clorice A. Bohner, on September 16, 1967, whom he married on May 28, 1935; his second wife, Eleanor R. Mort, on September 24, 2001, whom he married on August 28, 1968; a son, Gary L. Frederick and a sister, Mabel Carothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Leetonia. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
