Richard R. Evans

Columbiana - Richard R. Evans, 83, of Columbiana, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.

Mr. Evans was born September 30, 1932 in Boardman, a son of Leroy and Elsie Franken Evans and had lived in this area all of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and had worked at National Refractories in Columbiana for 25 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia.

He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Davis; three sons, Mark Evans, Matthew (Jennifer) Evans, and Richard Dzuray; a daughter, Mary (Paul) Bires; a sister, Arlene Juillerat; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death his parents and a sister, Louise Evans.

There will be family calling hours from 8-9 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leetonia with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
