Lisbon - Richard Eugene McCoy, 78, of 9437 Steubenville Pike Road, died at 8:18 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at his home.
Mr. McCoy was born June 3, 1932 in Unity, a son of the late Ross and Ruth E. Webber McCoy.
He had worked as a brick wheeler for 22 years at H.K. Porter Company in Irondale and as a butcher and meat cutter. He served in the U.S. Army during Korea.
Richard is survived by his wife, the former, Freda Rochenhauser, whom he married August 1, 1953; four daughters, Donna (Ted) Babinka, Patty (James) Garwood, Pam (Allan) Moore and Ruth (Chris) Byers; four sons, Richard McCoy, Paul (Theresa) McCoy, Ron (Ellen) McCoy and Michael (Lisa) McCoy; three sisters, Donna Jean Springer, Helen (Edward) Greene and Linda (Jim) Burkey; five brothers, Donald (Pat) McCoy, Glen (Pat) McCoy, Earl (Betty) McCoy, David (Janet) McCoy and Richard L. (Carol) McCoy; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Shirley McCoy; two sisters, Dorothy and JoAnn McCoy and one brother, Homer McCoy.
Friends may call at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010 and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010.
Private graveside services will be held at later date.
