New Waterford - May 29, 2008 - Richard M. Cunningham, 78, of 3253 Creek Road, died Thursday at his son's home in North Jackson.
Mr. Cunningham was born August 24, 1929 in Unity Township, a son of Alfred B. and Claudia Snyder Cunningham.
He was a mechanic for Anchor Motor Freight in Lordstown retiring in 1991. He served as president for the Retired Teamsters Local 377 of Youngstown.
He is survived by his wife the former Patricia L. Genge, whom he married in 1963; five daughters, Dawn Elizabeth Dailey of Pottsville, PA, Diana Sue Duncan of Virginia, Candi Denise Seager of Texas, Mary Frances Parish of Columbiana, and Carol Sue McIntosh of Columbiana; four sons, Victor Joseph Cunningham of North Jackson, Michael Mateer Cunningham of Lake Milton, Richard Dana Cunningham of Coral Springs, FL and William Daniel Cunningham, Sr. of East Palestine; a sister, Helen Marie Edling of Columbiana; a brother, Warden Francis Cunningham of Columbiana; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Mae Sponseller and two brothers, Sidney McQuade Cunningham and Alfred Boyd Cunningham, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with the Reverend Richard Fruit officiating. Burial will follow in the New Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
