Regina “Kay” Raneri, age 67, of Lisbon, died on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born on March 24, 1948, in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Logan and Wilma Slonaker Allen.

Kay was a lifetime area resident and had worked as a teacher’s assistant for the Robert Bycroft School for 34 years, retiring in 2014. She loved working with special needs children and had a love for animals as well. Kay enjoyed beach vacations, camping, painting and crafts and was a huge fan of Thomas Kincaid.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Raneri, whom she married on December 20, 1965; a daughter, Karen Johnson of Lisbon; three sisters, Carol Miller of Clarington, OH, Shelly Anderson of New Cumberland, WV and Janet Geibel of Chester, WV; two brothers, Terry and Ron Allen both of Lisbon; two grandchildren, Nikole and Zak Johnson; her beloved nieces and nephews whom affectionately referred to her as “Day Day”, Traci McCoy, April Johns, Casey Anderson, Meranda Lockhart, Ashley Welling, Bob Shook, Terry Lee Allen, Jason Anderson, Christopher Allen and Josh Allen; her God-daughters, Tishma Bosworth and Wendy Spatz, her “Lifetime Best Friend”, Claudia Mercer and several great nieces and nephews.

Kay will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. At her request, no services will be held. Instead, donations may be made in her memory to either the American Cancer Society or the Special Olympics.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
