Columbiana - Raymond Andrew Chellinsky, 86, formerly of Stanton Drive, died at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the Parkside Health Care Center.

Mr. Chellinsky was born July 16, 1926 in Louise, WV, a son of the late Andrew R. and Sarah Suderlund Chellinsky and had lived in Columbiana 43 years, formerly of Mexico, MO. He grew up in Pittsburgh, PA where he graduated from Duquesne University. He served in the US Army Air Force during WW II.

He had been employed as a brick pricer at the former Kaiser Refractories, Columbiana, retiring in 1988. He was an active member of Grace Church, Columbiana and a life member of Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite. In later years, spending time with his grandchildren was the joy of his life.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mae L. Goldstrom, whom he married January 5, 1951; a daughter, Sandra (Gary) Tharp of Columbiana; a son, Terry A. (Carolyn) Chellinsky of North Canton; a sister, June Razpotnik of Murrysville, PA; seven grandchildren, Curtis (Tawny) Tharp, Shonna Tharp, Rebekka (Brendan) O'Sullivan, Corey Tharp, Andrew (Michelle) Chellinsky, Teresa (Robert) Gates, and Sarah Chellinsky; four great grandchildren, Ronan, Kyla, Isaac, and Joshua; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with the Reverend Dr. Robert C. Joy officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Benjamin Firestone Post #290 American Legion.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials donations may be made to the Grace Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkside Health Care Center for their kind care.
