Columbiana-Ray Neale Souder, 81, of Columbiana passed away at 5:30 pm Friday, March 25, 2016 at Hospice House, Poland.

Mr. Souder was born November 15, 1934 in Columbiana, a son of the late Otto and Olive Stewart Souder and had lived in this area all of his life.

Ray was a 1953 graduate of Columbiana High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War as a medic. Ray was a member of Union Local #171 and worked as a master carpenter for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leetonia and the Benjamin Firestone #290 American Legion in Columbiana.

Ray enjoyed auctions, fishing and spending time with his family especially his two granddaughters.

Ray is survived by his wife, the former Gloria Rowlands, whom he married February 25, 1956; his son, Charles (Lori) Souder of New Waterford; his daughter, Kathy (Joe) Macaluso of Carmel of IN; two granddaughters, Chelsea Macaluso and Alyssa Macaluso; two brothers, Otto Souder, Jr. of Summerfield, FL and Richard Souder of Columbiana; and a sister, Marilyn Wire of Columbiana.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Benjamin Firestone #290 American Legion Honor Guard. Friends will be received from 11:00 am-1:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
