Ray M. Cole

Salem - Ray M. Cole, 78, of Maple Street, Salem, died at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Parkside Health Care Center, Columbiana. Mr. Cole was born March 21, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas, a son of the late Lesley and Nellie Halliburton Cole. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served for four years before being honorably discharged and had been employed 28 years at the Eljer Company, Salem, retiring in 1998 as traffic manager. Ray was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Salem. He loved reading and working on puzzles. He also enjoyed flower gardening at his condo and traveling with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Dorothy J. Hileman, whom he married November 24, 1967; a sister, Lou Jacobs and a brother, Frank Cole, both of San Diego, CA and a brother in-law, John "Jack" Hileman of Columbiana.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, with Pastor Alan Smearsoll officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
