Leetonia - May 23, 2008 - Ralph Emmett Prine, 60, 330 Ridge Street, died at 7:00 a.m. Friday at the Hospice House, Poland.

Mr. Prine was born September 26, 1947 to Emmett and Mary (McFadden) Prine and had lived in the area all his life.

He worked at Sheet & Tube (Briar Hill Works), Republic Steel, and he retired from General Motors, Lordstown fabrication plant. Ralph graduated from New Springfield High School in 1964. He served our country for 12 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and in the Seabees Reserves. He was a life member of the York Drexler Post #5532 VFW, and the NRA, and served on the B.S.A. Camp Stambaugh properties committee for many years. Ralph enjoyed hunting with his brothers, daughters, and grandchildren. He also loved fishing with his grandchildren and enjoyed many shooting sports with family and friends.

He leaves his wife of 37 years, Pennie (Nichols) Prine; three daughters, Heidi (Mike) Weaver of Negley, Gretchen (Steve) Knight of Leetonia, and Kristin (Karl) Toy of Salem; eight wonderful grandchildren, Jessica and Anthony McMillan, Trevor, Austin, Alexis and Kyle Knight, and Chase and Channing Toy; a sister, Colleen (Alonzo) Potts of New Springfield; three brothers, Greg (Kim) Prine of Mountainview, MO, Emmett (Sandra) Prine, Jr. of East Palestine, and Brian Prine and his partner Bryan Addleman of Oakland Park, FL; his father and mother-in-law, Bruce and Rosalie Nichols of Mesa, AZ; three sisters-in-law, Lugene Whittenberger and Dave Hayden of Ravenna, OH, Vickie Mackall of Belton, MO, and Gaye Nichols of Bloomington, IL; and two brothers-in-law, Gregg Nichols and Beverly Burson of East Palestine, OH and Preston (Judy) Nichols of Cartersville, GA.

He was preceded by his parents and his mother-in-law, Roberta Nichols.

A celebration of Ralph's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, friends may call from 5-7 p.m..
