Ralph K. Dain, Sr

New Springfield, OH-August 25, 2009-Ralph K. Dain, Sr., 73, of New Springfield died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home.

Mr. Dain was born May 1, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of John and Mabel Woodcock Dain, Sr. and had lived in this area since 1975.

Ralph worked as an electrician for Youngstown Sheet & Tube and Chrysler Corp, Twinsburg retiring in 2000 and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam and was honorably discharged after 22 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, the former, Barbara Tims, whom he married February 27, 1960; four daughters, Sandra Hoff and Deborah Ritchey both of Columbiana, Karin (Tim) Weingart of Hurricane, WV and Kelli (Steve) Nyers of Columbiana; a son, Ralph K. (Tennille) Dain, Jr. of Archer, FL; a sister, Beverly Milnick of Baden, PA and 14 grandchildren.

Ralph was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, John and Joseph Dain.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana with Reverend Thomas G. Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Columbiana Cemetery where the Benjamin Firestone Post #290, American Legion will accord military honors. Friends may call from 12 noon-1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
