Rachel Henry

New Middletown, OH-March 23, 2010-Rachel Henry, 82, formerly of East Palestine, died suddenly at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Henry was born January 1, 1928 in Woodlawn, PA, a daughter of William and Agnes Turner Harvie and had lived in this area since 1950 coming from Monaca, PA.

Rachel was a real estate agent, a homemaker and a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of East Palestine where she was active in many committees including Parish Life, Bible School, Youth Budget Advisor and the Koiniea Class. She had also been a member of the East Palestine Chapter #381 Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Russell J. Henry, whom she married July 28, 1950; a daughter, Rachel Henry of Milton, FL; a son, Bruce A. (Sharon) Henry of New Middletown; a sister, Catherine Davids of Battle Creek, MI; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine with Pastor Mike Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
