Paul Richard Miner, 76, of Columbiana, passed away Thursday morning, August 25, 2016 at Hospice House in Poland.

Mr. Miner was born July 18, 1940 in Columbiana, a son of the late Paul and Evelyn Posey Miner and had lived in this area all of his life.

Paul was a supervisor at General Motors in Lordstown. He served in the US Army and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He coached Little League in Columbiana and also bred, trained and showed Hackney Ponies for many years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Donna Jean Vecchione, whom he married May 11, 1963; a son, John A. (Debbie) Miner of Grand Prairie, TX; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Miner of Louisville; a brother, Charles (Paula) Miner of Byron, GA; and five grandchildren, Marisa Miner, Anthony Miner, Savannah Miner, Andrew Miner and Cory Miner.

He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Richard Miner, Jr.; his step-father, Tim McCoy; and a sister, Shirley Jensen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 29, 2016 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Columbiana, with Father Bernard Timothy officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Honor Guard from Benjamin Firestone Post of the American Legion. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 pm Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Material tributes in memory of Paul may be made to the St. Jude Church Building Fund.
