Rogers - Paul R. Lipp Jr., age 90, of Rogers, died on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the Hospice House of Poland, from complications of a fall at his home.

He was born on January 23, 1927 in Rogers, a son of the late Paul R. Lipp Sr. and the late Edna Williams Lipp Granger.

Paul was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the occupational forces in Japan. During his time in the army he received a metal for marksmanship. He was a lifelong member of Clarkson Presbyterian Church where he served as both an elder and a former trustee. He worked as a farmer and continued to farm for a large portion of his life. In 1964, he founded Paul R. Lipp Excavating which became Paul R. Lipp and Son Inc. Paul continued to operate machinery and worked through the age of 85.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie Hole Lipp, whom he married on June 19, 1949; a son, Gregory (Lauren) Lipp of Rogers; a daughter, Penny (James) Gibson of Wake Forest, NC; three granddaughters, Natalie (Andy) Gibson-Corrigan, Melinda (Tim Dowdle, FiancAC.) Gibson, and Lindsay Lipp, and two grandsons, Jared Gibson and Gregory Paul Lipp.

Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Donald W. Lipp.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clarkson Presbyterian Church with Pastor Juliann Joy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Negley Fire Dept. or Hospice of the Valley.
