McDonald - June 15, 2009 - Paul R. Holisky, 74, of 2260 Salt Springs Road, formerly of Leetonia, died Monday morning at his home.
Mr. Holisky was born March 26, 1935 in Salem, a son of the late John and Anna Kozar Holisky and had lived in McDonald since moving from Leetonia in August of 2000. Paul had served in the US Army. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, McDonald.
He is survived by his wife, the former Bernice J. Baker, whom he married June 8, 1957; a daughter, Pamela Marie (Lewis) Skruck of McDonald; a son, Paul D. (Melissa) Holisky of Girard; two sisters, Rose Marie Carlisle of Salem and Mary Lou (Wayne) Thurston of Columbiana; three grandchildren, Wyatt Skruck, Paige Holisky and Wesley Skruck and two step grandchildren, Austin and Bradley Long.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Holisky and a granddaughter, Ariann Holisky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Leetonia with the Father Thomas Eisweirth officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, where the Salem VFW/Amvets will accord military honors. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia, where a wake service will be held at 4:45 p.m. Thursday.
