New Springfield - Paul C. Granger, 78, of 2705 E. South Range Road, died at 5:58 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Boardman.

Mr. Granger was born March 10, 1934 in Signal, a son of the late Charles C. and Constance Crawford Granger and had lived in the area all of his life. He was a 1952 graduate of Lisbon High School and had served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He had been employed as a machinist/maintenance superintendent at Wean United in Youngstown for 42 years, retiring in 1999. He had also worked at Industrial Waste, Fallston, PA. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying deer hunting.

He is survived by his wife, the former M. Jean Huston, whom he married August 25, 1980; a daughter, Paula (Joe) Nolker of Leetonia; two sons, Ross Granger of North Lima and Scott (Barbara) Granger of Centerville, PA; two step daughters, Michelle (Leroy) Santimarino of East Palestine and Diana (David) Keeble of New Springfield; a step son, Sean Davis of Elyria, whom Paul raised as his own; a sister, Marjorie (Edward) Mullen of Leetonia; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Pastor Carolyn Griffeth officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the East Palestine Honor Guard.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
